 Absentee Voter Ballot Application   This form is "fill-in-able".  Click here to see what this means.
You must meet one of the statutory requirements to receive an absentee ballot.  Applications must be signed by the registered voter.  In order for a ballot to be mailed, the application must be received by 2:00pm on the Saturday prior to election day.  State law requires a new application for each election unless otherwise noted.  Click here for more information on absentee ballots.

The City Clerk’s Office maintains a list of voters who are interested in receiving Absent Voter Ballot Applications prior to every election. There are no requirements to be placed on the list. However voters must meet at least one of the criteria.  Click here for more information on Absent Voter Applications.

This form needs to be completed and returned to the Clerk if a business is closing/changing owners and/or when a final sale is taking place.

 Business Registration (annual renewal required)   This form is "fill-in-able".  Click here to see what this means.
Use this form to apply for a business registration (Exception:  Massage Establishment, Massage Therapist, Taxi Cab, Taxi Cab Driver, Peddler, Solicitor, Commercial Amusement Device - do not use this form / use the form provided for your business type).  City Ordinance requires that all businesses be registered.  The fee schedule is noted on the application.  Read more in the Northville Code of Ordinances.

 Commercial Amusement Device and Arcade Application (annual renewal required)   This form is "fill-in-able".  Click here to see what this means.
Renewals are mailed about six weeks prior to the license expiration date.  Use this form to apply to operate a commercial amusement device.  Fee schedule is noted on the application. Read more in the Northville Code of Ordinances.

 Dance Hall/Roller Skating Facility Permit   This form is "fill-in-able".  Click here to see what this means.
Use this form to obtain a permit for a dance hall or roller skating facility.  Read more in the Northville Code of Ordinances.

 Dog License (annual renewal required)   This form is "fill-in-able".  Click here to see what this means.
Use this form to apply for a new dog license (dog not previously registered with the City), or if you misplace the renewal application sent by mail.  Our Services/Clerk section has more information on Dog Licenses.

 Election Inspector Application
Use this form to apply to serve as an election inspector for local and state elections.  Pay rates are:  $175 per day for election chairperson and $140 per day for election inspector.  More Election Inspector information is here.

 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Request for Public Records   This form is "fill-in-able".  Click here to see what this means.
Use this form to request copies of public records.  You will be notified if there is a fee involved in order to process your request.

 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Subscription Request   This form is "fill-in-able".  Click here to see what this means.
Use this form to request a six month subscription to regularly published documents (i.e. City Council minutes, agendas, etc.).  The subscription fee is noted on the application.

 Garage Sale Sign Permit   This form is "fill-in-able".  Click here to see what this means.
Use this form to apply to have a garage sale.  This form must be returned in person and cannot be faxed or mailed.  Signs must be placed on private property.  You must obtain owner approval to place a sign on private property.  No fee.   Read more in the Northville Code of Ordinances.

Use this form to apply for a license to conduct a "going out of business" sale or any sale that indicates a belief that upon disposal of the stock, the business will cease and discontinue at the premises where the sale is conducted.  The license is required by State Law.  Apply for the license at the City Clerk's Office.  The fee schedule is noted on the application.

Use this form to apply for a license to operate a horse-drawn carriage in the City of Northville.  The fee schedule and insurance requirements are noted on the application.  Read more in the Northville Code of Ordinances.

Use this form to apply for a license to operate a massage establishment in the City of Northville.  Information needed at the time of application, including the fee schedule, may be found on the application.  Read more in the Northville Code of Ordinances.

Voter Registration Application
Can be found at the Michigan Secretary of State website.  Use this form to register to vote in the State of Michigan.  Return this form to the Clerk in the community in which you reside.  Applications must be received 30 days prior to election day.  For restrictions on using this application, click here.

This form should be submitted to the Police Department to apply for any job openings listed in the Employment Opportunities section.  Please mail the form to the attention of Susan Hatch, Northville Police Department, 215 W. Main St., Northville, MI 48167.

If you receive a bad check in the City of Northville, please follow all the instructions found on this form before coming to the Police Department to file a complaint.

If you would like the Police Department to keep an extra watch on your home while you are away on vacation, please complete this form and bring it into the Police Department.

 Liquor License Review Committee Application   This form is "fill-in-able".  Click here to see what this means.
Under the City of Northville’s liquor management ordinance, those applying for a liquor license within the City must file an “operation plan” that will be approved by the City’s Liquor Management Committee.  All “On-Premise” licenses must be approved by City Council after review by the Liquor Management Committee.  Applicants should contact the Michigan Liquor Control Commission for further information.

Parking is prohibited on city streets and municipal lots between the hours of 3:00am and 6:00am.  If you need to park your vehicle on the street or in a lot overnight for an extended period of time, please complete this application and submit it to the Police Department for processing.  Please note that if you have any outstanding parking tickets, the permit will be denied.

If you feel you were unjustly issued a parking ticket, complete this form.  Submit the form and the ticket to the Police Department.  Your will be notified of the decision of the Chief of Police by mail.  Please read the instructions carefully.

 City of Northville Dual Water Meter Policy
For residents who have a high outside water usage, the City allows the installation of a second water meter.  Residents receive a 60% reduction in their sewer rate for outside water usage that goes through the second meter.  For current rates click here.

 Right of Way Permit
If you are planning improvements to your property that involve work on your driveway approach, City sidewalk, or anywhere on the street right-of-way, you must first obtain a permit from the City of Northville Department of Public Works.  However, some properties are located on streets under the jurisdiction of Wayne or Oakland Counties.  Read more information here.

 Form L-2358, Application for Deferment of Summer Taxes
This form extends the due date of your summer tax bill until February 14 or the date winter taxes are due.

 Form 2602, Request to Rescind Homeowner's Principal Residence Exemption   This form is "fill-in-able".  Click here to see what this means.
Use this form to remove the homeowner's principal residence exemption from a parcel.  Example: You no longer own and occupy a parcel as your primary residence, or you have filed an exemption in error. 

 Form 2368, Homeowner's Principal Residence Exemption Affidavit   This form is "fill-in-able".  Click here to see what this means.
Use this form to request a principal residence exemption for a parcel.  To qualify for an exemption you must OWN and OCCUPY the parcel as your primary residence.  If you own and occupy by May 1st of any given year, the exemption will begin in that year.  If you do not own and occupy by May 1st of any given year, the exemption will not begin until the following year.

 Form L-4260, Property Transfer Affidavit
Use this form whenever a transfer in ownership occurs. This form is REQUIRED by law to be filed within 45 days of a transfer in ownership. If not filed within 45 days, a penalty of $5/day ($200 maximum) applies.
